Enrolling in IGNOU University is Just simple and easy. The University follows the policy of ‘walk-in admission’ that means, the Interested Candidates Can apply for admission round the year. The Application forms are available at all Regional Centres and Study Centres of IGNOU. There are two-cycles of IGNOU admission First is January and Second is July Batch. While Most of the Programmes are Available in both Cycles, some are Available in Either January or July Cycle.
There are three categories of programmes:
- Programmes which anyone fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria can join directly;
- Programmes with limited seats where admission is on the basis of merit list based on prior qualification and experience; and
- Programmes where admission is through an entrance test.
Majority of the programmes fall in the first two categories. These are offered through the Common Prospectus. For programmes having admission through entrance test, separate Prospectus is available.
The Validity of IGNOU Online Admission:
The Learners of IGNOU Offered Admission Have to Join on or Before the Due Dates Specified by the University. In Case They Want to Seek Admission for the Next Session, They Have to Apply Afresh and Go Through the Admission Process Again.
Facilities Available to IGNOU Learners:
Learner-centredness is at the core of the academic and administrative structure of the University. Beginning from pre-admission stage to the certification stage, the learners receive continuous academic and other support in various forms. Some of the facilities available to the learners are:
- Pre-admission counselling at Regional Centres and Study Centres.
- Teaching support in the form of face-to-face academic counselling at Study Centres.
- Conduct of practical sessions under the supervision of experts for programmes having a practical component.
- Conduct workshops/seminars/extended contact programmes depending on specific course requirements.
- Continuous evaluation and feedback.
- Multimedia support in the form of recorded audio/video lectures, teleconference, radio counselling, video-conferencing, etc.
- Library facility.
- Conduct of examination at a nearby study centre.
- Learning on the move: one can continue one’s studies in an uninterrupted manner in case of change of place/location.
IGNOU Placement Services:
In order to further extend learner support services to its geographically distributed student population who are pursuing various IT and Non-IT related Degree, Diploma and Masters programme, the university has recently established the Campus Placement Cell (CPC). The mission and endeavour of CPC are to enhance and facilitate the process of prospective suitable employment opportunities that are commensurate with the personal profiles of our learners. IGNOU Recognition:
IGNOU Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates are recognized by all member universities of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and are at par with Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates of all Indian Universities/Institutions, as per UGC Circular letter no. F.1-52/2000(CPP-II) dated 5th May 2004, AIU Circular No. EV/11(449/94/176915-177115 dated January 14, 1994, & AICTE Circular No. AICTE/Academic/MOU-DEC/2005 dated May 13, 2005.
